Our Staff

  Director - Jason Baseden  

Currently working at the American School of Paris as the school Sports Fitness trainer and track and basketball coach, Jason Baseden spends each day working with youth from many different nationalities. From the age of 6 to 18 years old, Jason spent each summer going to summer camps and during his university years, he was a camp counselor each summer at Beaverton Basketball camp (camp for kids age 7-18). In the fall of 2000, Jason's ability to work with children took him to South Africa where he spent three months working at Hoops 4 Hope (hoopsafrica.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching kids life-skills through sport. He was a three-sport athlete in High School (Football, Basketball and Track & Field) and went on to receive a full Scholarship at St. John's University in New York City were he received his Bachelor Degree in Communication Arts. Along with his work at The American School of Paris, Jason works in the domain of television media with broadcasters such as ESPN, CBS, OLN and the Speed Channel.

  Director - Craig Vezina  

Craig Vezina is a professional educator with over ten years of experience working with international students from around the world both in and out of the classroom. A former student-athlete at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, Craig completed his Master's Degree in European History and Culture at Columbia University in New York and he currently serves as a High School Guidance Counselor and History teacher at the American School of Paris, where he began teaching in 1999.

  Director - Ian Fallon  

Ian Fallon started the martial arts at age 10, which helped him win the gold medal at the 1995 Pennsylvania State Championships in the art of full-contact Tae Kwon Do in the heavyweight category. In High School Ian regularly attended Ice Hockey camps which helped him win the spot as starting goaltender on his varsity Ice Hockey team with whom he won the league championship. Ian was a two-time allstar goaltender during High School and won the Most Valuable Player award. His personal drive and competitive spirit won him a spot on the Philadelphia Junior Flyers AA travelling team, renowned as one of the best teams in Pennsylvania for his age group (17-18). Ian was also chosen for Team Philadelphia in the "Chicago Showcase" Ice Hockey tournament which groups some of the best players in each state for a one week nationwide tournament held in the city of Chicago designed to attract professional and college scouts. Ian was approached by the University of Vermont. Today, Ian is an HR Consultant, has been living in France for ten years and is bi-lingual. He continues to train regularly with a personal trainer.

  Camp Director - Barbara Hoegen  

Barbara Hoegen B.A. MaEd.CELTA is a professional educator with13 years experience working with international students from around the world. Barbara is a former two time All-Canadian basketball player and Olympic team member for Great Britain. Barbara’s coaching credentials extend to girls and boys Middle school, Junior Varsity, Varsity and Men's Division 3 programs in Soccer, Basketball and Track & Field. Barbara has widespread experience managing summer sports and activity camps in England, Canada, and France. The days never ends when the classroom door closes. Teaching, coaching and extending children’s minds keep her energized.
